As leaders in the field of special education, we realize the positive influence that a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Framework can have on improving the education of all children and youth. Join your colleagues from Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont as we discuss the connection of MTSS and special education eligibility. This Lunch and Learn will be an opportunity for conversation, sharing of resources, networking, and reflection on questions such as:
- As part of referral to and eligibility for special education services, what specific questions do you ask regarding MTSS provided and the student's response to?
- How do you make determinations regarding whether or not a student has adequately responded to general education interventions, if general education interventions should continue, or if the student is a student in need of special education services?
