NHASEA Annual Law Conference
Plan on participating in a lively, informative, and interactive, virtual 2021 Annual Law Conference with Wadleigh Starr & Peters, PLLC and Drummond Woodsum. During our time together attorneys from Wadleigh Starr & Peters, PLLC will address the following:
“Lessons Learned in the Year of the Pandemic”
Although we’ve been in the midst of a Pandemic, Courts and Hearing Officers have continued to weigh in on the scope of our duties under the IDEA and Section 504. Many of the educational processes and standards that we use every day continue to be defined, refined and redefined by these judicial bodies. Your knowledge of these decisions will better equip you to serve students and your district. Last year we looked at the general meaning of the phrase “compensatory education,” and this year we’ll look at the decisions that challenged school district’ efforts to provide FAPE in the face of COVID-19 with the goal of helping you make wise decisions as you consider your post-COVID duties to support children.
During our time together attorneys from Drummond Woodsum will address the following:
“School Choice and Students with Disabilities”
As school choice are becoming ever more prevalent in New Hampshire, school district officials will want to be aware of these options and how they impact students with disabilities. Jerry, Milli, and Erin will discuss New Hampshire’s school choice options including the State Board of Education’s Learn Everywhere Rules, providing special education to students at charter schools, as well as proposed legislation on school vouchers, innovation schools, and open enrollment options.
