OGAP MATHEMATICS: ONGOING ASSESSMENT PROJECT PARTNERS WITH NHASEA TO OFFER TWO MATH INTERVENTION INSTITUTES
Looking for intensive professional development on math interventions? The Ongoing Assessment Project (OGAP) is a formative assessment system based upon learning progressions in mathematics for additive reasoning, multiplicative reasoning, fractions, and proportionality. At the foundation of OGAP is teacher knowledge about the focus content and mathematics education research on how students learn mathematics concepts. NHASEA is partnering with OGAP Math LLC to offer two (2) - four (4-Day) Institutes. The first Institute, Additive Reasoning is directed toward Classroom Teachers, Special Educators, Math Interventionists and Math Instructional Leaders in Grades K-2. The second 4-day Institute, OGAP Multiplicative Reasoning is directed toward grades 3-5 classroom teachers, special educators, math interventionists and math instructional leaders.
Check out the Institute descriptions below which include, interactive professional development, all materials and follow up consultation and support. It is recommended that “district teams of general and special educators” register for these Institutes
Grades K-2 OGAP Additive Reasoning Institute
The Additive Reasoning Institute is a highly interactive professional learning opportunity for k-2 educators who will be examining math instruction, interventions and the framework for learning progression. Topics for this Institute will include:
- Research underpinning student learning
- Strengthening foundational mathematics content related to Additive Reasoning
- Understanding the OGAP Additive Reasoning Framework/Learning Progression
- Use of OGAP materials and resources
- OGAP Link to CCSSM standards, the district mathematics program and other instructional materials
- Professional development materials
- OGAP Additive Reasoning Formative Assessment Item Bank
- The OGAP Additive Reasoning Framework/Learning progressions and supporting materials
This Institute will be delivered in a hybrid learning model (remote and in-person) and includes 3 follow up half days of ongoing consultation, technical assistance and support to all attendees.
OGAP Math Instructors, Certified in Both Mathematics and Special Education
$1500.00 Per Person (Additive Reasoning)
Location:The first full day session in both Additive and Multiplicative Reasoning will be an In-Person meeting held at the NHASEA Office, 25 Triangle Park Drive, Concord, NH. The second full day session in both Additive and Multiplicate Reasoning will be Remote. The following three (3) half day sessions in both Additive and Multiplicative Reasoning will be held as follows: One (1) 3-hour session In Person and two (2) 3-hour sessions Remote.
Based on any developing COVID-19 restrictions NHASEA reserves the right to pivot all professional learning opportunities to a remote platform.
