The Trek to the Summit Continues!
Year II: The Summit for New Special Education Teachers 2024-2025 Cohort
July 21 -22, 2025
Grappone Conference Center
The NH Summit for New Special Education Teachers is pleased to welcome back our 2024 - 2025 Summit Trekkers, and we are Now Accepting Registrations!
As a veteran of the Summer 2024 Summit, this year your Summit experience will build upon the knowledge and skills you previously learned, as well as enhancing your teaching experience from this past year. The Summit 2025 will support you in refining instructional strategies, provide updates on many of the recent developments in the field of special education, the opportunity to participate in varied breakout sessions, to reconnect with Summit 2024 colleagues, and meet the new 2025 cohort of early career special educators.
We recognize that your journey as a special educator this past year was filled with adventures, successes and challenges and the Summit 2025 will offer you time for professional growth, confidence building, networking, and more tools to add to your toolbox setting you up for another productive school year. A few of the topics that we will be covering this year include but are not limited to:
- Strengthening IEP Writing
- Deepening Parent/Family Engagement
- Avoiding Educator Burnout: Balancing Career and Well-Being
- Setting Yourself Up for Success As You Head Into a New School Year
- Collaborating with Colleagues: Teamwork Among General and Special Educators
Our two-day Summit will once again commit to providing early career special educators with an opportunity for professional development, peer to peer experiences, networking, collaboration, confidence building and laying the foundation for a successful school year. After the 2-day Summit, there will be Three Additional Sessions for ongoing networking and professional development.
As you know, the Summit is centered around the theme of “hiking” terms, hiker speak and hiker lingo. Like teaching, hiking can be overwhelming at first; as you gain experience, become more familiar, more comfortable, gain skills, confidence and join some hiking buddies for support, eventually you make it to the summit! Summit participants will have an opportunity to participate in interactive large and small group discussions focused on topics important to new career special educators. Now, more than ever, special education teachers need a support network, and the Summit is designed just for that purpose.
Similar to last year, this Summit is offered at no cost to the teacher. The Summit will include:
- 2-day Summit to be held in Concord; breakfast and lunch provided
- Overnight accommodations for those Summit attendees who are traveling more than 50 miles one-way.
- Keynote Speakers
- Topical Break-Out Sessions
- Exhibitor hall filled with important materials and resources
- Follow up networking and communication
- One year membership to the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
- Additional valuable resources
All veteran, Year II Summit attendees, are required to register; the deadline for registration is June 07, 2025; walk in registration cannot be accepted. For those Summit attendees eligible for overnight accommodations, further details will be provided under separate cover.
