NH School Funding Fairness Project Announces Forthcoming New Report

On Special Education Cost Drivers

The NHASEA is happy to welcome Micaela Demeter, Advocacy & Outreach Coordinator, and Carly Prescott, Policy Director of the NH School Funding Fairness Project who will discuss a current initiative to gather district data from across the state which will inform a forthcoming new report on special education cost drivers.  Members of the NHASEA are invited to participate in this research by submitting district-level data on several common drivers of unanticipated costs, including out of district placements and staffing shortages.  The research report aims to paint an accurate picture of the many factors contributing to the unpredictability of special education budgeting and highlight the major cost drivers of expenses that regularly outpace general education spending each year.  Information shared during this lunch & learn conversation will help Project staff tell the story that needs to be told, informed by the people who are closest to the work.  Pre-registration is required, check out the links below for more information.

As a member benefit, the Lunch and Learn Series is offered at no cost to members of the NHASEA.  If you have questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Jane Bergeron-Beaulieu Executive Director of the NHASEA, jbergeron@nhasea.org.
