Designing a Professional Learning Series Focused on Preventing Behavioral Challenges in Our Youngest Learners

Join the SERESC Systems Team at this virtual Lunch and Learn session to share your professional prospectives on the design of a potential professional learning series focused on young children and preventing challenging behaviors.

Do you want to be proactive about preventing behavioral challenges for our youngest learners? Special Education Administrators, Principals and Preschool Coordinators are Invited to a Lunch and Learn Session Designed to Collaborate with the SERESC Systems Team to share ideas and help shape a stress-management professional Development series designed for school staff.

Objective: Gather perspectives from attendees to inform the purpose and design of a potential Spring 2026 professional learning series.

Description: The SERESC Team will provide proposed brief goals and descriptions of a potential upcoming collaborative learning series. Participants will provide feedback as to the viability, feasibility, and utility of the proposed professional learning series.

Proposed Foundational Series Themes:

      • Connection before correction
      • Behavior as Communication (student behavior and staff behavior)
      • Components of a ‘Stress Story’
      • Supporting well-regulated and self-aware adults
      • Regulation-supportive culture
      • Supporting young learner transitions – emphasizing skill-building and teacher modeling.
      • Building classroom, school, and district mindsets and cultures that reduce reliance on reactionary student placement changes.

As a member benefit, the Lunch and Learn Series is offered at no cost to members of the NHASEA.  If you have questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Jane Bergeron-Beaulieu Executive Director of the NHASEA, jbergeron@nhasea.org.
