Year II: The Summit for New Special Education Teachers 2025-2026 Cohort

The NH Summit for New Special Education Teachers is pleased to welcome back our 2025 - 2026 Summit Trekkers, and we are Now Accepting Registrations!

This year your Summit experience will build upon the knowledge and skills you previously learned, as well as enhancing your teaching experience from this past year. Year II is a critical transition from learning the basics of special education to developing consistency and confidence in daily practice. Educators move beyond understanding individual components of the IEP, to successfully handling the case management process with greater independence. The Year II Summer Summit and the scheduled follow up days focus on strengthening systems, improving organization, and deepening understanding of how IEP components work together to support student access and progress.  The emphasis is on moving from reactive problem-solving to more proactive planning, ensuring that practices are both compliant and increasingly aligned to student needs.

As you know, the Summit is centered around the theme of “hiking” terms, hiker speak and hiker lingo. Like teaching, hiking can be overwhelming at first; as you gain experience, become more familiar, more comfortable, gain skills, confidence and join some hiking buddies for support, eventually you make it to the summit! Summit participants will have an opportunity to participate in interactive large and small group discussions focused on topics important to new career special educators. Now, more than ever, special education teachers need a support network, and the Summit is designed just for that purpose.

Similar to last year, this Summit is offered at no cost to the teacher. The Summit will include:

• 1-day Summit to be held in Concord
• 6 follow up sessions
• Follow up networking and communication
• Additional valuable resources

All veteran, Year II Summit attendees are required to register; walk in registration cannot be accepted.

All Sessions will be held at the Health Trust Building in Concord, NH.
