Building Coordinators
Professional Learning Community (PLC)
Are you a special education building coordinator, an individual designated as the LEA for special education, an assistant principal or teacher leader tasked with special education coordination? If so, consider joining a professional learning community (PLC) of NH colleagues who focus on interactive, practical, problem-solving, strengthening leadership skills, sharing of resources and peer-to-peer support.
This NHASEA Professional Learning Community meets regularly to:
- Improve skills and knowledge of special education leaders at the building level through collaborative study, exchange of expertise and professional dialog
- Develop and apply strategies that lead to improving learning results for children and youth with disabilities
- Provide a collegial group that builds support for one another, where members access support through ongoing electronic communication and technical assistance between meetings
- Learn about research-based tools, practices, and resources in key special education content areas
- Focus upon collective inquiry on best practices and realities of special education leadership at the building level
- Strengthen and build relationships with NH colleagues who serve as special education building leaders
- Review current and upcoming legal requirements as related to educating children and youth with disabilities in order to deepen understanding of these laws and how to incorporate them at the building level
- Optimize professional collaboration and build relationships
